A view around the futsal courts at the Johnson Legacy Center (JLC). The playing surface is a soft, smooth, poured resin floor in grey and blue. White lines define the futsal courts. Yellow lines define volleyball. A divider curtain separates the two futsal courts. See Photos webpage for more pictures of the JLC.

REGISTER TO PLAY:

– YOUTH –

TAKING A NEW APPROACH – Our new Director of Coaching, Andrew Davidson, has gathered a huge amount of interest by youth & their coaches in playing futsal in one way or another this summer. See Programs webpage. But it looks like we will either group youth into valuable Futsal Academies and/or the new Futsal ID Program or form fixed teams to play exhilarating competitive league-type games. So, counter to what the league has done in the past, the league is now accepting youth player names, associated player data (e.g. age, gender, etc.) and deposits to form teams for those who want to play futsal this summer.

To register youth players:

Email player name, gender, the age that the player will be on December 31, 2024, preferred program (academy, futsal ID or league-type games), the parents’ name(s), parents’ phone number(s), soccer coach name and city of residence to registrar[at]nafutsal.com. Immediately follow this by sending a deposit of $25 to one of the league’s money accounts (Venmo, Cash App, or PayPal). See  Alternative-Payment-Methods webpage.

Following a deposit, there will be additional $70 payment to the league AND registration with US Futsal Federation for insurance for $10 (soccer insurance doesn’t apply to futsal), both will be done only if there are enough youth in your age/gender to form an Academy, a Futsal ID Program or a team within a division of league-type games.

Profile of Internationals

NEW ADULT DIVISION,

an International Division,

Division I a.k.a. Hispanic Div.

Adult Competitive “League-type” Games of futsal on Sunday afternoons, June 2 thru July 28, 2024. Minimum of 3 teams needed to conduct league-type games, 4 or 5 teams is much better, but 6 teams is the maximum.

The cost is $100/game/team paid before each game’s kick-off with an additional $100 paid weeks before the first games to guarantee the team a place in the division. This additional $100 also serves as a discounted performance bond to ensure that  teams show up each week. See Team Performance Bonds below. Conveniently performance bonds can be paid at any of the Q&A/Registration Events on the Calendar. In this new division, the Performance Bond may be used to pay for a team’s 8th (last) game or left as a Performance Bond for the next season.

The intent of the creation of this new adult division with a different pay structure and performance bond amount is to recruit new teams in order to expand the adult divisions of the league.  Subsequent seasons may or may not include an “international” Division I but it is very likely to include a Division I as an expansion of the Champions Division. (Champions Div is the most competitive followed by Div I, Div II, etc. with promotion & relegation between divisions.)

A stepwise description of registration for this new adult division is provided under menu item Registration, the choice Adult-Team-Registration-Instructions-for-Promotional-Hispanic-Div-I-Games (summer 2024)

Team Performance Bonds:

Each team registered in a season of competitive league-type games, i.e., not academies or futsal time, is required to post a performance bond, a.k.a. forfeit bond, which is usually refundable at the end of the season. If a team fails to appear at the scheduled date/time of the game or appears post grace period (a no-show), refuses to participate or leaves without participating or initially participates but then refuses to continue (a walk-off), the team loses the performance bond. If a team appears and participates in all scheduled games, the performance bond may be refunded or left for a future season. The amounts are:

U9 – U12 youth teams, $75.

U13-U16 youth teams, $100.

U17-U19 youth teams, $125.

Adult teams, $125.

Again this season, U17-U19 team & adult team Performance Bonds may be posted 50/50, i.e., 50% this season and 50% next season. (But if a 50% performance bond is forfeited during the season, a full performance bond must be reposted to continue playing.)

Annual Player Registration (youth AND adults):

Since NAFL sanctions its activities with USFF, players and coaches register with USFF annually, usually in the fall or winter. This provides medical and liability insurance. It does NOT sign a player up to play on a team. This registration is done after a player or a coach has registered for an activity listed above. It’s only $10 for youth and $20 for adults. Registration is done in GotSport.com for FY 2023/24:

Click/tap button above to begin registration

Please view this page first: www.nafutsal.com/annual-player-registration-instructions

¨ Coaches, assistant coaches and referees should register at the following webpage:

https://futsal.com/registration

Again, players register this way AFTER their team registers for a youth futsal academy, futsal ID program, futsal time or for a season of league-type games.

Register soon to play futsal on the regulation-lined futsal courts (there are two of them) in the new, incredible Johnson Legacy Center in the upcoming season. There is nothing like it for many cities and states around the S.E. Directions on the Locations webpage. But there is limited time on the courts thus limited registration so only a limited number of players and teams can participate in the upcoming season.
